That’s called ‘cutting edge’ aggressive contemporary design!

The front end does look horribly ugly, from the stretched out and upside down kidneys to the bloated, banana shaped headlights. Might be M2 inspired design, but still executed poorly. Then again, I don't really care for the M2's fangs either, so makes sense that I don't like it.

Honestly though, who cares if they are building this junk? It's just filling a gap in the new BMW naming/numbering strategy so they can check the box and move on. We can talk about it all we want, but in the end it's wallet votes that matter. If you don't like it, don't buy it.

X1 looks good, X2 is so Subaru'ish. BMW design is going downhill rapidly.

These two are so similar what's the point of the x2 without more to differentiate them?

Does a 4er handle any differently than a 3er?

Same chassis, same suspension, nothing changes.
This guy obviously knows absolutely nothing...it has a different suspension than the X1. Driving dynamic is totally different.

You're right, may actual interest level is pretty low. It actually has different control arms? Or just different shock/strut and spring rates? I could look at RealOEM, but why don't you do the work since you know so much.

Everything sounds just great! But the real question is, why are we still calling these cars 'the ultimate driving machine'?

You shouldn't, UKL makes it a Mini actually.
Having said that, i think the X2 will be more like a E84, because it is slightly lower than the F48. Which makes it a tad more «sporty».
The ass Looks good, love the rear lights, but maybe that is optional only?

Couldn't agree more. Saw the X2 in person yesterday at the Philly Auto Show. It looked awful.

As I stood back and watched others I began to wonder if BMW is purposely abandoning their roots to go after the non car culture millennialist. I can see the X2 being shopped by millennial soccer moms who only want the badge.

The direction Bmw is headed is in response to A. The decline of the enthusiastic car culture. (Sadly most men can't even change a tire, drive stick, or name five parts under the hood. And B. The realization that women are now the primary decision maker in family auto purchases.

The Kia Stinger wants its wheels back X2...

I don't mind the front of this car but the rear is just ugly. Did it really need another roundel on the C pillar?? I am not liking the direction BMW sav's designs are heading to. Hope they don't butcher the next X5 design too.

And another from dealer arrival.

There’s no reason to the awkward placement of the hood line on the X2. That and the upside down kidneys ruin what could have been a great car.
I remember reading somewhere that the hood cutline was that way for pedestrian safety. If they hit someone the facia will bend and be much for forgiving than the sheet metal hood, as it's very horizontal so it cut into you more easily .

Again just what I remember reading Not that I agree as I've always hated the 3 and 4 series cut line as well.

I think it's the b46 for the horizontal front drive engine. Where did you get that they are putting a 300hp version?
