Spare Tire
I see the kit's they make for $350 or so. Couldn't you just buy a skinny tire/rim and a jack for $150 and call it good though? Or am I missing something?

If you can get a skinny rim with the correct pcd and offset, a compact spare tyre with the load rating, jack and wrench for $150, why not?

As far I am aware all BMWs that have the four plastic jack guide pads fitted to the chassis will accept the same jack irrespective of model it was produced for.
I have a jack bought via eBay that was produced for a X3 several years ago and it works perfectly. Be cautious of third party jacks as often the orientation of their jack lift pad end, ie the part that connects to the vehicle, is set incorrect by being in line with the jacks lift arms whereas the BMW type the lift pad is set at 90 degrees to the lift arms. Issue is if its not at 90 degrees you would need to be under the vehicle to crank the jack up and down. |

I purchased my jack via eBay.co.uk and the original listing has now dissappeared due to time.
I have found the following on ebay which might prove useful - one of these is located in the USA. Happy hunting - try these links https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-X5-CA....c100506.m3226 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2004-2005...oAAOSwzINbxAVS |
