Coolant Level

How the heck do I check the coolant level????

You need to unscrew the lid and look inside the reservoir. There are max and min markings on yellow plastic tabs inside.

Read this info from another very recent thread on this topic:
On my 2018 X1 18i (1.5ltr petrol engine) the coolant level is visible by taking off (unscrewing) the coolant expansion tank lid and, looking in through the opening, there is a level indicator. Bit of a fiddle not being able to view through the side of the tank and, of course, you have to wait until the coolant is no longer hot in order to avoid possible scalding.
Additional Info: The amount required to fill from the Min to Max mark appears to be fairly small, although that may differ from one engine type to another.

You can still do that if you know the correct level. It looks fine from your pictures.
