Suggestions for radar detector hardwire

Hi all, first post.
Any suggestions on where I can tap in for keyed 12v power for a radar detector and also some ideas on how to route the power cable up to the dash? My previous car had keyed power near the sunroof controls but my X2 doesn't have sunroof controls and I wouldn't even know how to get in there to tap in.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Have you considered using the MirrorTap option?

This is great! I'd never heard of these, thanks!
Reviews seem pretty good as well. I'll email them to ask if detailed instructions are provided because I'd have no clue where to start.
Thanks again!

No problem, it's a solid solution that many, including me have used with great success. Makes for a relatively simple install.

You mean OPP or Surte in Quebec? No, mostly because that would imply I've been caught speeding lol! My trusty Uniden R3 performance beautifully!

Ahh sorry I thought you were still in Toronto because of the info. I always wanted one but there are fines and points in Ontario for having one.

I am in Toronto. No way I'd ever get picked off driving on the 401 in Toronto.

As for driving between Toronto and Ottawa...not yet. Fines are high, but it's been years and haven't busted yet!!!
