London/SE approved bodyshops?

Hello all,

Does anyone have any recent suggestions for any bodyshops in around Greater London?

Reversed into an EV charging post on my f48 and have need a dent pulling out and the boot respraying, as well as the boot lid light unit replaced (light works, lens smashed).

Are these things cheaper to do separately?

The light seems to retail around £105 - £110, so I guess labour is going to be £50 - £75 to do?

As for the boot, I'm getting quotes ranging from £250 in Enfield to over £1000 from a BMW dealer's bodyshop, with the median being around £700.

Should I be right to be very wary of the £250 quote? They are the only ones who have mentioned about needing a new X1 badge as they'll remove the original to spray the boot.

Are there any questions I should be asking in terms of how they approach the respray/paint matching?

Any assistance most welcome.

All indpendent body shops with good credentials are the same. The BMW body shop is an independent one where BMW take customer vehicles under the guise that it is better.

I have one locally who is a family friend who lives in Witney. He is Mercedes authorized as well as BMW. He asks several pertinent questions, including is it an insurance claim, and are you paying cash?

The paint code is in the car. I think mine is in the boot, but not sure, but whoever does it knows where to look.

Also make sure you know what you are getting for your money. Make sure he resprays the completely damaged panel (s). Ask nim if the quote covers this.
