Sylvania ZEVO LED

I see that Sylvania recently came out with ZEVO LED Fog Light lamps that are direct replacement and will give us the same 6000K light as our LED head lamps.

Our manual states that the fog light bulb is H8 bulbs.

Has anyone tried these? If so, did you have any heat issues?

I like to know that too. There's a warning says it may not fit. Do tell how it work for you.

Got the lamps installed. The LEDs match perfectly and they fit same as OEM bulb. Once installed the X1 still throws an error code. I used Bimmercode and updated the coding to tell the X1 the fog was a LED and everything is back to normal.

Great work! I read the heat-sunk was fairly large, sounds like no issue at all? Does it run hot? I may try my luck with Bimmercode someday.

Haven't thought to get out and feel the lens after driving. I'll keep you posted.

How do you get the option to enable LED with Bimmercode? I don't see it is supported anywhere.

It's in the Front Electronic Module. Go in there and scroll down the menu. You will find Fog Lights, as well as, Hot and Cold Testing. Deactivate the Hot and Cold Testing and choose LED for Fog Lights.

There are reasons for fog lights to be yellow/amber:

True, but from the factory they are neither yellow or amber and when you have the LED lights the stock incandescent bulb looks like BMW cut corners and it makes the visual appeal look cheap. Please attach a pic of your X1 with the yellow.

This is only a myth. It hard to explain why high end vehicles are all having LEDs now excepts they are simply a superior solution.

People can believe whichever way they want and feel good. I just wanted to give another perspective to people who are thinking of switching.

All cars I have owned over 44 years with fog lights have yellow/amber fog lights. I don't think I ever turned them on except to see what they look like since I don't get much fog.
