CarPlay and iOS13/iPhone11pro
Is anybody else having CarPlay problems with the new iPhones? My CarPlay is very slow to connect sometimes when I start the car (up to 5 min, and sometimes need to manually turn it on in iDrive), and it keeps dropping the connection while on calls. Not dropping the call, but switching from the call being through the car’s speakers to being through the phone itself. I never had these problems with my iPhoneX.
Anybody else? |

Make sure you're up to iOS 13.1.2, there were CarPlay connection issues reported in 13.1 and 13.1.1 that were referenced with the release of 13.1.2

Thanks...I’m up to date though. Also updated the iDrive software and it’s still not good. Music drops out for a second here and there too. I wish there was a way to use a wired connection.

The other thing I have seen is that CarPlay audio takes over completely and I can't switch the audio source to Satellite or radio. |

Add me in to the club.
As of 13.1.2 I'm now having the random call being dropped back to the phone, then when it tries to reconnect to CarPlay not only does the phone disappear, but I don't get any music audio since it's still got it paused from the drop and all the other music and radio sources stay stopped/muted. |

On my phone, I had it forget the BMW Wi-Fi hotspot, and that seemed to help for a day or so, but it dropped a call again yesterday.
I’m glad it’s not just me. Let’s hope there’s an engineer at Apple who drives a BMW and has these same problems. I’m going to send feedback to Apple and hope others do the same. |

Had some issues initially (right after I got the phone) with audio stuttering here and there, intermittently, with music and podcasts. It seems to have gotten better in the last week (my phone is set to automatically install updates).
Reassuring to hear that it isn't my hardware (phone).
