Whats so much bettert about it than the old idrive jobbie?
Also what exactly is telematics?
Last question I promise. When a car has connected onlinedrive does this allow you to access the internet from your car?

The Pro bit gives you hard drive, bigger screen and more function, far better than Business.

The Media bit gives you Bluetooth, voice and USB which are otherwise separate options.

Telemetrics is a sim card in the car that lets you and BMW communicate remotely with the car. E.g you can send destinations to the car with google maps. Look up connected drive on the BMW web site to learn more.

You have very limited interet.

So do all cars with media have usb interface? because this doesn't seem to be the case with the cars I have looked at.

The cars have USB interface, but not what you're thinking.
The USB is tucked up behind the glove box door.

USB in the centre console is an extra cost item.
IIRC, the glovebox USB is just for dumping stuff on to the hard drive, not to play directly. It isn't supposed to support the extra current needed to connect an external hard drive. If you have a big stick (USB, that is), you may break it if you close the glove box when it's connected, but that IMO is an issue with the centre console ones - it looks easy to break. If I had one, I'd have it on an extension lead.

The (centre armrest) USB option is known as 6FL in BMW speak, and costs an additional £200.

Having had cars with the Business and Pro media packs I'd go for the Professional version everytime. The business unit is very limited in comparison.
