Starter issue (pinion starter torque?)

2017 X1. Not starting on first push of starter button -- no response at all. Starts with second push.

Read the codes but don't know how to store them on my Foxwell 510. As I recall, the codes referenced the pinion starter protection unit and mentioned voltage low, torque threshold, and the like.

Does that offer enough to a mechanic here to suggest what I might be looking at?

(Bonus points for anyone who can tell me how to read stored codes on the Foxwell. The manual shows how to save codes but not how to go back and read them later! I will share the actual codes here if someone can help me read them.)
