New X1 or x2

I'm considering a 2019 or 2020 x1 or x2.
I test drove both and overall loved the x2. The only issue is the response to acceleration. From a stop, or while moving, if I floored it, I had to wait a second or 2 for it it to start going.
Both cars were the same in acceleration response. Both were '19 models.
I noticed that 2020 models have a different gear selector.
I'll try one of those later this week.
My plan is to get it tuned, both engine and transmission.
But I want to start out with the best platform.

Is there a link of bang for the buck mods here?

If you have one for sale, feel free to message me.

Thank you!

Are there any search terms you'd recommend? I'm sure there's some common vocabulary used that I'm not aware of. My generic terms like acceleration lag don't really work here.

I had the tdi tuner module. It did give a better feel and actually got better gas mileage. I never bothered to dyno it. Was waiting for a tune. Sold it and was going to get a bm3 tune but they looked at my dme numbers and said I would need a bench unlock so I will be happy with my 300+ hp. Lol

Thanks for your help.
I'm still searching for my x2. There is a perfect '19 sitting on a lot 1 mile from me. But my wife hates the color, mosano blue. I like it, especially with the black out parts in the m sport style. It has the s704 suspension.

Really hard to find an x2 with low mileage and the s704. So I'm bummed. My wife is having a tough time at the moment so it's tough to argue.. but if she isn't happy...

Anyway.. there's an m35i in white 45 minutes from me, but it looks like it wasn't taken care of. I'm not crazy about white. Phytonic blue is my favorite, then orange.. and those are on the 'approved' list.

Not sure if phytonic blue is ever offered on the X2.. I think maybe the X1. The X2 has the Misano blue which I thought was too flashy at the start, but I love it.

The cars are exactly the same between the X1 and X2. The M35i model will have the electronic shifter that may not be available on the regular trims until 2020 or later? One big bang for buck is the m35i model, a lot more agressiveness in the exhaust, more power, LSD, M brakes, bucket seats (although that might be a minus for some people). I believe the steering wheel is nicer. Anyways that's the main reason why I didn't get something else like the X3 m40i... if it didn't exist I would probably have stuck with the 6 cyl engines. Pedal tuner does help, I also drive it in sports mode all the time. The car itself is more "raw" and less luxury. It is tiny in many ways, so if you need it for a larger family then I'd skip. It's my daily, and the minivan is reserved for doing all the other errands

Another longer term debate if the suspension is worth it or not I'm not sure if the s704 is different than the adaptive suspension that was offered on the '19 models for me, it was an either or thing. I felt it didn't change the ride enough for me.. and longer term if you want to add other lowering suspension etc it becomes more headaches and more money. I also was impatient and decided to choose something that was in the lot so I could just drive it on home vs building and waiting. Another thing to watch is that if you have the larger wheels it only comes with summer tires which some people found a pain to have to buy some winter sets. I imagine with your location it might not matter so much, but as I saw in texas this morning with the black ice you wouldn't even have a fighting chance with snow tires. (And maybe not even all seasons or winters.. but still a better chance).

I'm not aware the X2 is/was available with the adaptive suspension, I thought it only had dynamic dampers as an option. I have those in my 2020, and they're great - on, they firm the car nicely but off, they soften it for cruising. The stock suspension is right in the middle, never quite the right feeling IMO.

Don't forget the m35i has front and rear LSD. It's quite unique to a small SAV and man does it make a difference. You can take off at full throttle and full cramp, in sport it's a right-turn shoot-the-gap sniper. Or punch it in a sweeper turn (on-ramp) and wow.

Well I ended up getting a 2020 X1 with convenience and some other luxury options. I decided the light blue X2 was just a little too small for our family needs. Plus I have an e93 328i 6sp MT, so I've got my fun car already.

The X2 handles great in xdrive, and the m sport package came with really nice seats. The m sport suspension was excellent and I wanted it badly...

But I needed the X1 for space. I drove an Sdrive and didn't care for it compared to the Xdrive.. which shifted more positively, and had no torque steer.

I got storm bay gray with black interior. Kind of a unique color. Aluminum trim is nice. 40,k miles.. 34,k at a dealership (otd) with 2 years of warranty. Not a steal by any means but I wanted to buy it from my local dealership.

Now I've got to fit a receiver hitch.. looks pretty easy to do. Otherwise, I'll be getting a tune of some sort at some point. But it feels good as is for now.

Looking forward to learning more here. I greatly appreciate the advice so far.

I believe all those pedal boosters work the same and increase the % of fuel delivered to the engine based on how you step on the pedal, so just give a try to any of them
