x1 clanking noise at rear of engine
Hi,
Does anyone have any idea what this sound is? BMW X1 2017, 250d xdrive. It’s only on 53k miles. Happens quite often but stops after being stationary for a few minutes. Very odd that it can only be heard when behind the engine, hoping it isn’t the timing chain. Any advice appreciated! |

Maybe to check if there is any technical action for your vehicle:
https://www.bmw.co.uk/en/footer/quic...e-recalls.html I was told at the last service that there are two technical actions and one was: The main pulley and belt tensioners should be checked and replaced if necessary |

Carrying out fault diagnosis by listening to sound videos on the net is fraut with misinterpretations. I would suggest you ask several dealers opinions.
