Cruise Control Speedo indicator
What is the purpose of the marker that zooms up to the speed you set your cruise control?
I figured that when you stepped on the brake, it would stay where the cruise was set so that when you pushed the resume button it would accelerate to the marker. Instead my marker goes to zero and then zips back up after resuming. |

There's no real reason for it. Just like there is no real reason to have a start button.

reason: when you show it to your passenger for the first time, they go "WOW, that's cool"

1. If you didnt have the indicator zoom up to your set speed, there would be no other indicator to let you know the cruise is on.
2. If the thing didnt go back down when u stepped on the brakes, you know some idiot would think the cruise is still set. In reality its all done for safety. There are ALOT of idiots in the world, hence cars have become 'almost' idiot proof.

there's no light, but it shows up on the gauge cluster panel + the marker that we're talking about in this thread

It helps control the timing between the startup of all of the cars components vs a direct mechanical linkage. How would comfort access work without a start button? JT2

such clever remark!
the adaptive brake lights, which only comes on when the ABS is engaged, would only matter if the other drivers know what the heck they are, and that they only come on during hard braking.... do you know every single safety features of every car out on the road today? Quote:

What I said. I've been rammed twice from behind. Once mild ($444), and once wild ($10,000)! Adaptive brakelights mean nothing to the guy who is looking out his side window when he runs into my BMW.
