Okay I was wrong about Eco Pro

I usually make a very lame joke when someone talks about Eco Pro or comfort mode that I only drive in sport because I am a "driver". FWIW my kids (adults) don't think I am really funny either.

So we took our first extended road trip (for us) this past weekend. Rochester to NYC to northern NJ to home Friday to Sunday. a little over 700 miles including Manhattan traffic. Over all averaged 32.5 miles per gallon running almost exclusively in Eco Pro (in Manhattan I needed the responsiveness of sport)

I get it now. It has been quite some some since I car I have driven got that mileage. And the range of the car is amazing. 340 plus miles on one leg still had 7/16 of a tank left.

Great ride, comfortable, handled the traffic well, still really enjoying the car

I most likely will not make the "there is another mode than sport" joke again (no promises)

It is great on the interstate but you can do well in any mode if you stay off the throttle. When we went down to Florida I averaged almost 32 in comfort and that was after driving in town 2 days too.

Haha there is no other mode than sport!! Yes I had to do some extended driving and on comfort I did manage 32ish mpg. I flipped it to eco just to see how much more it gives in range... if you have enough "coasting" available it'll slowly go up. It's rather humorous though to see you've gained "0.5 miles" range and it slowly and painfully go up. If you don't pay attention and the road starts going uphill though, it's such a dog to get the car going again and you lose that mileage trying to get back up to speed.

In the middle of a UK to Western France trip, i'm actually finding Comfort Mode to be the best for fuel economy, 400 miles so far with just under half a tank of diesel left.

wow thats impressive for M35i engine.

I tracked all my miles via Fuelly app, and after 15 full ups. im averaging 20.5 with Best MPG at 23.2 and Worst at 18.8... mainly in LA traffic and its hot lately, so been cranking the AC all the time. sports mode 80% of the time with some Comfort mode when im in "lazy driving" mode.

Do keep in mind that the BMW trip computer is rather optimistic in the MPG reports, I've found it to reliably read 2-3MPG higher than manual calculations vs previous vehicles that were within 1/2 MPG per tank.

I’ve had it read both ways. I track with fuelly as well and my average is 25.5.
Best 32.8
Worst 23.2

Drove our X1 from Massachusetts to Florida and back 2 years in a row and got over 35mpg in Comfort mode. Cruise control set to 70-75 wherever possible. Going from Miami to Key West and back, got 42 mpg due to 55mph max limits. Never tried ECO but I doubt it will be better.

I got 41.7 MPG in Eco pro on my way back from Chicago to Columbus, I coded my X2 to always start in Eco Pro since I don't mind moving it to sport mode whenever I want to have some fun. I got over 500 miles on a single tank

I usually run in EcoPro mode, and overall find it a good balance. I see that in Bimmercode there is an option for EcoPro+. Does EcoPro+ exist in the X1? Has anyone tried to code it? Thanks.
