I've been trying to see if I can enable screen mirroring via Bimmercode. I've gotten as far as having the menu option appear, and then getting it to say "Activating vehicle Wi-Fi..." but then it hangs and nothing ever happens. I was bummed because I was reading all the successes people have had with enabling it on other models.

1. Go in "Body Domain Controller" 2. Enable "Expert mode" 3. Go in "3068 LceMaster" 4. Search for "FLC_Aktiv" 5. Set the value to "freigeschaltet_in_Stellung_A" 6. Back to "Body Domain Controller" menu and code your changes On mine in Canada, with the switch to 0, the front Daytime Running Lights (angel eyes) are still on. If it's the same for you and you want all lights completely off, you will need to enable the DRL setting in the iDrive menu to turn off the DRL. This one doesn't require expert mode. I don't recall in which menu it is. Last edited by trnguyen; 02-12-2021 at 10:45 PM.. |

Here’s an interesting situation, we’ve said that there are many alarms and alerts that go off after you’re done coding, they go away as soon as you instantly restart the car. But here’s one that lasts a bit longer: if you decide you want your AC climate control display to be orange instead of white, the AC indicator light will flash and you can’t Turn off the indicator light nor can you turn off the whole climate control system. It keeps flashing through two or three restarts of the car, and seems to go away after about 5 to 7 minutes by itself. I coded it back-and-forth twice as I didn’t really understand the switch, so I know it goes away.

interesting, no warning here, just a blinking ac light for 5 min....my car was idling the whole time...Also, it now only seems to be orange when I have the lights on at night, during the day, it reverts back to white? In retrospect, I don’t think I’d make this coding change again.

Indeed. A lot of the controls in my M35 are white during the day and orange at night. The needles on the speedometer and tach for instance, just noticed that last week.

OK then ignore all my postings. If you choose active, it means white during the day, orange at night, if you choose not active, it means white all the time. I was hoping by changing it from the default it would be orange all the time and I don’t think that’s possible. At least in the non-expert settings
Nevertheless, the original point still stands, this is the only coding change I’ve seen where the alert/error doesn’t clear with a restart ,it happens a bit later.

Hmm so which option are we talking about here? I was thinking in my mind that why did BMW CHANGE the way things worked on my car vs all my other cars? The needles etc are white for me at night which makes it a little "too bright" same with on the HUD. So which option are we talking about to make it flip back to orange at night?

If you choose “Active” as the code, the climate display will be orange at night (I think)....

Sorry.. but is it in the body domain for ac control colors? That's the part that gets foggy for me when I was following the thread. It seems maybe that the 2020's might have had it change. Tarekith can you confirm if it's just the a/c controls and speedometer, or does it also include the HUD? I don't want to go messing around if it won't do me much good

Nevermind.. just getting out of work late.. My ac and the needles are orange..I was hoping for the hud lettering to go orange too.. or the background of the needles to change orange.

On our '16 X1 everything including the hud changes to orange which is much easier on the eyes. The white display on the X2 is sharp, but unnecessary since it's way too bright even I go to the very dark and residential around my house.
