It only shows up right when you start your car and disappears once car is on. i think your says 474 miles and keeps counting down(mine read 450and now reads 260, went wine tasting) on your car and then should go away about 5 seconds after after car is on. its a subtle reminder

OP, stop reading all the guessing crackheads.

The symbol is to tell you that your car is due for a 30,000 mile inspection. Every 30,000 miles this symbol comes on to let you know it is time to go to the dealer and have the car inspected. The dealer will look over the car and read any fault codes stored in the 13 or so control modules. You can look in the DIY section and find the instructions on how to reset the light, or if your car is still under the 4-year/50K service agreement, the dealer will inspect the car as part of the free maintenance service.
