Exclamation 2019 X1 - service/support contract after 3 year expiration?

Hello all, was hoping for some advice from the community

My dad has a 2019 X1 – nice and loaded with 5000 miles that he is doing a lease buyout on (financed at 2.9%) - he has been leasing various BMW cars for almost 20 years so he hasn’t really had to deal with one after the included 3 year service stuff expires.

Was wondering if any kind of service contract is worthwhile, the refi company is offering me some kind of very comprehensive policy for about $65 a month that they claim covers everything except things like break pads.

I know the BMW equivalent is very expensive – just wondering what everybody’s thoughts were.

Considering the car gets so little wear and tear wondering if it was worth it at all?

Thanks

Depends. Basic maintenance is easy on these cars. My '18 F33 went to 75k miles before I sold it. Worst thing was the coolant expansion hose broke and it cost me $40 and some time to fix it. Of course now BMW is covering that. lol.
Even brakes are easy to do on these cars.

Hi there! If I were you, I would ask for a complete list of what's included (or isn't) and then run the numbers. $780 annually to do what? 1 oil change per year, and a brake fluid every 2 years? Cabin/air filter also every 2 years? (could be less).

I believe that most of us here at the forum like doing things ourselves. In that line, I'm with chowser51; basic maintenance is straightforward. But maybe you prefer to avoid the hustle.

Bottom line, I think there isn't a 'correct' answer. It depends on what you want.

thanks - my dad is not a car guy AT ALL so he wouldn't be doing any of the work himself - looks like it's from these guys:

"supreme plus" here is a list of what's covered
