Question

I'm not ordering EBT on our car, have it on mine and don't use VC or dual BT phone connection... I'm assuming I can still stream music via BT and will get album art via a lightning cable?

I'm not sure with this model, but on earlier models, you needed EBT to stream, and for the system to display album art via the USB lightning cable.

Yes it seems to work on my old ipod and iphone 4s ...you get full album art (I assume via lightening connector) and audio playback via bluetooth.

With just base BT? That's good to know.

Yes mine is definitely base bluetooth. I understand from the BMW Genius, later iphones work fully through the lightning cable.

Noticed on ours this morning although we have the EBT there was no album art while BT streaming audio form Mrs W's iPhone. We do get the art if the phone is connected via the lightning cable. I did wonder if there is a setting that I have missed as we do get album art with the EBT in the 2 series.

No album art is only via lightning cable and not BT, my F10 is the same and it has EBT. It will just display music/album info.

Thanks great news, I was pretty sure this was the case but wanted to make sure rather than the car turn up without this functionality!

Makes sense, but I am certain that one of our cars did album art via BT. Could be my imagination though

It's not your imagination. Every modern BMW I have driven in the past two years had album art via Bluetooth. You should also have station art on XM but that is not working either. Hopefully a software update will fix this soon. You guys should mention this to your service advisor. The more people complain, the faster an update will be released.

From what has been mention in this tread, might explain why I can not get album art from the memory stick, dispite checking that the art work is embeded to each album. Had no problem with my last vehicle an Audi!! The BMW genie at my dealers has not come back to me with a solution.

Thanks for that, makes me more mad, that I can not get the art work displayed and the BMW genie has not come up with an answer.
Have sent you a PM.

What software are you using to create the USB stick? In my experience, the directory structure on the stick is pretty critical to have everything work correctly.
