2019 X1?

Why is it that there aren't any 2019's available yet? Is there too much '18 dealer stock?

Hi, my car is about to start production, for delivery end of January - so does that mean it will be the 2019 specification? I paid extra for these things, I wonder if the dealer will reduce the price of the car :-)

The 2019 X1 has not been introduced at auto shows yet. I expect you will get a 2018 model.

2019 X1

SOP for the 2019 X1 is/was 11/18. However, I have not seen a pricing or ordering guide published yet. You might want to ask the dealer what model year your vehicle will be.

Hi, the online BMW agent today said I would be getting the 2019 model. He was a bit grumpy actually and said that as it was now 2019 and the car is being built next week - why wouldn't it be the 2019? Bit rude, but I had a bit of a go back and asked him to triple check and he said it was deffo the 2019 model.

My dealer isnt working today, but I am dropping off some paperwork with him tomorrow and will double check BUT - I do know that the price I paid/will be paying incorporated the 1st January price rise. I argued that one quite a lot, but apparently its a hard and fast BMW rule that the car is the price it is on delivery and not on the date of the order ....Mmmm...

Anyway - all indications are that it will be the 2019 model

I'll report back tomorrow on what the dealer says.

I am getting VERY excited as apparently my little car is in the paint shop currently and I watched a YouTube of the paint process. How clever!!
Build starts next week and apparently it will be with the deal week 4 - thats very quick but Im not complaining

Jean

I think you'll be fine. BMW's model year change is usually late in the calendar year from memory, so features that it adds/(removes) occur in builds after around Aug-Sept. Hence, builds after that date (and sorry, don't know precisely for 2018) are referred to as 2019 MY (model year) cars, even though built in 2018

It's well-known in motoring circles that there are differences between the model year of a car, and its make year. That's why you often see 2019 MY BMW xxx versus 2019 build BMW xxx etc. A helpful BMW online agent should know all this and have taken the time to explain.

thank you for taking the time to explain that to me TTimbo, I often wondered what 'MY' stood for - but didn't like to ask as it was bound sure to be something simple and so make me look stupid

When I see the dealer later today I will ask about those things that have been added to the MY2019 - because I re-checked my invoice and I was charged for them as they were part of a package I bought.
As I managed to get a very good discount (4% more than carwow), plus top p/ex for my car, I doubt they will make any adjustment.

Thanks again.
I am getting silly excited now as, with any luck, I only have 3 weeks to wait yayyyyy...

Hi, the dealer confirmed it is a MY2019 and it doesn't come with the above options included - and it isn't in the foreseeable future as he did a 'dummy' build for June and those addition/options were not showing up as included in the UK build.

The great news is though, my car is actually built and on its was to the Port! So a little ahead of time .. yayyy.
Might even get it a bit earlier too.

I'm even more excited now

Jean
