When do you turn the heat on?
Wife driving me fucking crazy, it is 15 degrees Celsius here and she is already barking at me to turn it on and i refuse. This could dove tail into "why do women not have the ability to self regulate heat and cold" (she does the same thing with the aircon as soon as it hits 25 degrees) but whatever.
What's your switch over point? |

UK here and we are fast marching in to winter.
Current temp is 13c and i`ve starting to supplement the living room with a gas fire on low for a few mins every now and then. Central heating hasn`t been turned on yet as it fine when moving about in other rooms. Prob`s not to long off though. Never really thought about an exact temp it has to reach |

Growing up, Thanksgiving was the date dad allowed central heating to come on. Until then, it was a wood stove for the family room, and jumpers and blankets.
I rather prefer cooler indoor temps than warmer, so not yet for me. Maybe within the next 3 weeks. Energy is so expensive these days, I'm holding out as long as possible. |

I'm from Flarda so anything below 60*F will require heated seats, steering wheel, and AC heat lol.

We started heating the lower floor last week. Only during the day. Thermostat is set to 70F, so it doesn't run much once that temp is reached. Wifey just now turned on the heat upstairs. It's 50F outside, so it's getting to be time for occasional furnace use inside.

15 is about 60 for those still using an abacus.
Mrs and I in a constant push/pull on heating, she likes it so damn stuffy, i cannot deal with the lack of fresh air unless it is properly cold. |

I didn't bother reading any of the comments.
Personally, I turn the heat up every night right after I shower. Cue porn music. |

It comes on when it wants. Set at 68. Why bicker with your wife over it? If she's cold turn it on.

Because she wants it on when it is still fine in the house (around 72) and she turns it into a sauna. So i open a window to stop suffocating and now I am paying to heat a house that is letting cold air in.

When the temperature inside reflects 68 or lower. It was in the low 60s here last week and my house still read 72 inside.
I will say, I turned my heated seats on and the heater on in the Jeep the other day! |

I like it cold at night... so my wife sleeps with a heating pad. During the waking hours, it's easier to put on layers than it is to take off stuff, so our house stays relatively cool.

Ours has been on (then off for the heatwave) already - apparently the rescue cats in the front room are now in danger of developing frostbite or hypothermia at anything below 70 so the wife has decreed it inhumane not to pump some heat in (yeah, they have apparently forgotten how they survived last winter and are now rapidly adapting to entitled status).

No switch over points here, how cold is it inside your home (not outside)?
I try to get the home to 19 during the day, and I open the window at night to sleep at 15-17, which is more comfortable. |

I feel your pain, though. It's one of those things……….. Try telling her that she can put on a sweater, whereas you can't strip down to less than nothing if it's hotter than 22 already… |
