Creaking Panoramic Sunroof

Hi Friends, I took deliver of my 16 X1 XDrive28i a couple of weeks ago and now have 1500 KMs on it.

I've noticed last night that my sun roof is making this weird creaking noise at the joints between the movable and fixed panel while the vehicle is in motion. The noise goes away if I press up on the sunroof panel to tighten the gap but it comes back right after I let go.

Has anyone else noticed this issue?

Had ours since last October ...British winter... South of France summer and most weather in between and so far so good, no noises at all from roof. There might be a seal that needs some lubrication... had an audi cab and that could get creaky if the seals weren't occasionaly treated. Dealer should sort this.

Did you manage to fix this? I have the same problem

I fixed this on mine. Pop the roof open (not slide) and feel on the front panel at the rear alone the joint. You'll feel an indent where the top panel will sit on the lower panel. Put some sticky felt in that grove and the issue should go away. I did this over a year ago without any issues. I bought long strings of sticky velcro and placed the soft side for the felt. I tried many of the other possible touch points and this was the only one that resulted in any noise improvement.

Could you please share a picture of the exact spot?

I can't even seen the spot so I can't get a useful picture as my phone would be 1" from the indent and it'd be a large black blog.

Pop up your sunroof and from the outside of the car feel on the bottom (inside facing) part of the sunroof from the rear facing edge moving your finger forwards towards the front nose of the car and you'll feel where the metal has a channel / upwards indent. This is where I placed the felt.

You could probably place the felt on the cross bar where the sunroof sits however IMO this was going to be ugly and collect a lot of visible dirt so I did not try this route.

I found 2 things with mine. Slide the glass bank and in the front if you look from above there are some screws that can be tightened. Next on the sides where the wind screen is attached ( near the springs) I put some grease.

Separately, I reajusted both glass pieces to fix some wind noise. After that I have no wind noise or creaking.
