I got 40 few months ago.
And about playing with the car, I got my first Torx bits only last year. Beside changing my summer/winter wheels every year, replace the cabin air filter and replaced the interor lights for LED, I only really started to work on the cars last year only. I replaced the signal light in the mirror of the VW Rabbit I had and replaced the battery. I was going to try to replace the brakes, but then came the X2 to replace the old Rabbit. With the X2, I dared to open the door panels to add the tweeters. It was not that bad. I just kind of broke one clip only, not a big deal. I almost forgot, I opened the light switch to trim 3 tabs to have the rear fog lights on the X2 too. That's kind of my experience toying with cars so far. that's what i'd do as well. i'm on the fence, though, on whether or not it's worth the effort haha. i'm a lazy baby and don't want to spend the time removing the door cards.
sorry to hijack the thread -back to the topic at hand, let me know how the filter works xcelir8 and perhaps i'll buy one as well. when is it scheduled to arrive?

Rounderman takes the cake.. I'm turning 44 this year! Although I definitely say I'm pretty old at heart considering all my friends and co-workers are indeed much older, and I've learned my technical trade through very old equipment..
Davy, I added a middle speaker tweeter as well as the door tweeters and it's good enough for me. I am curious about all in one door speakers, but the increase in quality is good enough for me to leave my car as it is now.. |

yeah, you guys are all old af. haha.
there is that company that sells kits that are bmw specific, bavsound i believe it's called? but i don't know if the price is worth it. i haven't really had the need to change speakers in my car before and i was honestly really appalled at the terrible sound quality within the car as i began to get used to it in the weeks after buying it.

I was going to do the parts express speakers but the subs disappeared. Even though you have to buy pairs their coaxes are cheaper than bav.

45 here.
I did all 4 speakers and the center channel, it's very easy, bavsound even has a video showing you how on our x2s on YouTube. Personally I'd do all 4, the back ones were still noticeably harsh when I only did front three.

Some children on here! Ha, I turned 50 this year, look 35, and as per my wife, need to quit acting like I'm 25...but why, if I can still get away with it?

It's Monday tomorrow
Also, I don't recall where you mentioned that the M35i likes cold weather. I am full stock and I drove this evening. It was 3 Celsius here (~37F), I felt that the exhaust sound is more "crispy" (I don't know how to describe it). |
