How's it going using Carly? How much can you actually do? I've got a 2018 X1 F48 and wondering if they offer enough bang for the buck.

I'm also looking to install LED head lights for low and high beams, my '18 X1 just has lame halogen bulbs in it now. I don't see anything in the cheat sheets or any direct mention of settings that need to be change via coding for the headlights, just fog lights and turn signals? Is that a fair assumption? If I just swap out the bulbs would there be any other issues to be worried about (other than fit in the housing)?

Check the other thread about led lights and BimmerCode.
My only worry would be about warranty

I made XVIEW active under HU_NBT but it it's not functional - anyone know what else needs to be coded to make it functional?

Hi Almaretto, you mean to VO code, there's no need to do the write FA/FP steps in VCM? I tried to VO code the 6NS but I seem to have corrupted the HU_ENTRYNAV CAFD (becomes CAFD_FFFFFFFF_255_255_255). The idrive defaulted to some safe mode with very limited functions. I coded with the engine running all the time.

Panicked (wife's car lol), I used "Detect CAFD for SWE" to re-code the module. Everything seems back to normal, but now I can't seem to FDL code the module anymore.

Any ideas what went wrong? I followed the following instructions to VO code:

Writing to VCM serves no purpose but to potentially cause dealership issues.

I would need more info to know what is wrong.

So I can skip the following steps?

1/ VCM. Load the edited FA file.
2/ Calculate FP.
3/ Click VCM master tab and write FA FP
4/ Read FA FP to check FA has been saved to car.

Thanks

Thanks. But it seems that my x1 can't accept the 6NS VO (resulting in a corrupted CAFD)? Is there a way to make sure if my hardware can support it? Vin decoder?

Are you sure 6NS corrupted? It is a valid option for F48.

I'm not sure. But it seems like it is a straightforward thing. Just add the 6NS to FA and code the HU_ENTRYNAV Module. Can't figure out what went wrong. I've FDL coded quite a few features without much hiccups.

Not sure. Without screenshots or error codes, I cannot be sure what occurred. Did you lose connection during coding?

Don't think I lost connection. I'll try to get some screenshots and error messages. Thanks.

Edit: I looked through the logs and saw that my car actually has HU_ENTRYNAV2. Maybe can't use 6NS?

Which ones? See TM NCD / CAFD tool to display all possible options in FAFP.

Does anybody know how to deactivate the popup on the Navi screen that tells you what mode you are in when you change between eco, comfort and sport?

Thanks for all the great info. on this forum, coding is awesome!

It should be an option in IDrive settings to uncheck. Check around the display settings.
