Tiny windshield chips

I picked up 2018 CPO X1 yesterday and did not realize until I got home that there were two tiny 2mm chips on the windshield.

It is not a crack or bullseye that will worsen over time but more of visibility/cosmetic issue.

Is there any kit out there that can fill the chip and hide the blemish?

Thanks!

Usually a windshield repair place will deal with it. I'm not sure if NY has glass coverage automatically, but in a lot of places like MA it's free.. they would rather fix those chips before you get a windshield.

I want to avoid these places as repair usually leaves blemishes. I was wondering if there are kits out there that will minimize any visual imperfections.

IMHO, a professional windshield repair tech can do much better job than any DIY repair of windshield chips/cracks.

Agreed, my X3 had chips in the windshield and it was repaired by a professional company and I could not fault the repair.

The frustration and poor results of the kits make going to a professional well worth the money. You will probably end up at a pro anyway after trying the kit on your own. Might as well start with a pro.
