Premature Rear Brake Pads & Rotors Wear

My 2019 X-1 S-Drive has 17,500 miles.
I have had two opinions on the brakes (one from BMW Dealer).
My display reads "Rear Brakes" need to be replaced.
The dealer wants >$1000 for pads and rotors.
'BMW' says rear brakes last 30K miles minimum.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
The car is driven VERY gently. What is going on?

common problem - search around. you’ll see replacing the pads/rotors go quickly on the x1.
