Is it maybe possible to ask if my car is Carplay compatible? My VIN is WBAJH710003G11293.

I distinctly remember that I was able at some point to access connected drive store and order Carplay, but I didn't and now the option has long dissapeared from my menu.

VIN: WBA71AB0405T68468

My dealer and BMW told me CarPlay is not available for me on the ConnectedDrive store, so I cannot add it.

Is there a way to get Apple CarPlay?

Dealer is correct. CarPlay not possible this VIN. Need aftermarket HMI Box.

I do not make Aftermarket hardware recommendations. However, there are many other significantly less expensive options out there that I am sure works just the same as this.

Yes, no module for the one, just FSC Code and coding. Other two need MMI box.

Ok thanks. So my choice on the other two is one of the following

1) purchase the MMI box to add only Carplay $200-300. I have looked at some of the MMI boxes and it seems that this basically acts as a separate input on your headunit and you switch between the standard iDrive system and the headunit is that correct?

2) Aftermarket Android unit, get a bigger screen but could be buggy software.

3) OEM BMW Head Unit (Maybe upgrade to the larger/newer 8.8" screen /unit) Anyone know what this costs, I assume it may be costly and require some sort of coding?

No idea on costs. The MMI Box works in conjunction with current Head Unit. If you retrofit OEM Head Unit, it needs FSC Codes and Coding, and keep in mind you can sell your current head unit to offset cost of replacement.
