I have BMW X1 2017 in United Kingdom. I am searching on internet to install Apple Carplay. After some research, I realised that my car has EntryNav2 headunit and everyone is saying that I need to install wifi antenna before coding Apple Carplay.
Only bimmer-remote.com is saying that I don’t need to install wifi antenna and apple carplay will be directly installed as they checked something with my VIN number. Does anyone else also agrees with that statement.?

I again checked it with Bimmer_remote whether after installing carplay without wifi antenna will create any problems or connection issues and they said “NO”.

No issues so long as phone is close to dash (e.g. in cupholder). Otherwise, poor connectivity issues.

No, not if car SIM Card does not work locally.

It is port on back of head unit. Only thing you would plug into it is a WLAN Aerial Antenna, which you likely do not even need.
