Had the sottozero 3 run flat on last year. Absolute beast! Running up snowy mountains like a champ. So predictable in snow drifting too, was able to pull out some 180 drift u turns perfectly.
The only problem I experienced through the run is downhill icy turn. Had a close one once when the wheel didn’t turn like I expected it too. But beside that, sottozero 3 with a narrower, smaller, and slightly heavier wheel (help to cut through ice and snow) made this car the king of winter road. I drove it mostly in dynamic driving mode (traction semi off) which I highly recommend if u know what you are doing. Now I look forward to snow more than ever thanks to this setup |

Glad to hear it, since I just picked up a set of the BMW winter tire/wheels and the Sottozero 3 is the tire they’re using this year. No experience with this tire, and as a performance winter tire I’m a little concerned it won’t be as good as the regular winters (Continental WinterContact Si) we had on our previous car. I’ll be putting them on next week, so time will tell!

Hi. I have the same wheels, can you share where you've got the BMW logo center caps from, I am looking for them but all I could find is the center diameter of 56,3mm...

I've seen them on various eBay UK seller searches, so may be worth looking at your local eBay for Canada. Alternatively, if the wheel centres are the same on both existing and new (winter) wheels, just swap them over until next year.

Got 17" for our 2020 X1. Replika R194 wheel (Canada) from PMC Tire (online) with 56mm Amazon BMW Center Caps Emblem Stickers...
I like the black gloss look and 17" is perfect to deal with the rougher winter roads... |

Actually the difference in ride quality between 17" and 18" is very small. 19" is where it becomes rough.

i have fitted 255/40/19 winter tires (Continental Wintercontact) to my original 19" rims. All works and fits perfectly. Have driven now more than 1500 km and without any problems.
Only 2 differences i recognise is that the steering wheel is slightly harder to turn, otherwise the car grips to the road in a same way on the wet and dry tarmac (compared to summer tires) and secondly fuel consumption was slightly bigger, but as we were travelling with full load i can't say for sure it was because of the tires. Continental tires are really good, quiet and with a good grip in snow conditions. Recommended! |

I had Michelin Crossclimates fitted just below Christmas. In Scotland we have had an unusual spell of cold weather, snow and ice that isn't going away.
I have been very impressed with the tyre and car combination - I have purposely been out finding safe challenges to take on - did a perfect hillstart on a very steep snow/ice covered hill. |

Borbet Type RE 17x7.5, 40ET, with Vredestein Wintrac Pro, 215 60 17.
Just slightly bigger than stock, and a little more offset. Great set-up for winter. hmm...can't seem to get the pic to post. here's the link: https://ibb.co/HqP0prb |

OPTI Wheels M4S [17x8] Gloss black
+25 offset, 66.6 bore Michelin X-Ice - 225/55/R17 Ride quality, handling, and snow performance: all fantastic. I almost wish the stock wheels had similar offsets so they would sit more flush with the fenders. |
