Damn, sorry OP. Just know that you really have to be more cautious in the future. I have a phobia for these sorts of things.
What an asshole she is for giving you trouble, though.

The dealer will rape you...I got a very small dent in the line above one of my rear wheel wells from a friend's truck. They tried to say that they would have to take the whole quarter panel/roofline piece off for body work. $800 something dollars. It's literally the size of a dime, and not all that noticeable. PDR guy says he thinks he can take care of it for 150 bucks.

2 points to make here;
1- my wife rolled into some kia or some such pos and we took the high road- cut a check for $500 for a whole new bumper for the bitch she hit. That is what I would expect- so that is what we did...right?!!! 2- I was in my wife's volvo suv this weekend while she ran into a store. I hear a bang and tun to my 6 yr old daughter in the back seat- "did that lady just hit our car with her door"?" Daughter- "yup- she looked at me and smiled" F-ing smiled- like oopsie daisy. I got out and looked, but by now she had gone in the store. If my kids hadn't been with me I would have written "bitch" on her mercedes with my key. I guarantee if I had the next time she won't smile. But alas the kids were with me so I had to take the high road. |

lol at first I thought she was eating on her passenger side, but then I realized you're in England (opposite driver's side).
That situation would piss me off so much. She's probably wondering why you're making such a big deal for a scratch only she can "hardly notice". People are idiots and careless when it comes to cars, driving, and logic. People are so careless that I would have moved my car. I always go with my gut instinct nowadays. Part of it is I hate confrontation and go far out of my way to avoid it. |

There are just some people who don't give a shit about cars and think it's ok to just swing their damn doors open.
I've seen numerous times where people swing their door open and it bangs the car next to them, where they don't even look at the damage they did and just leave. Once some lady parked right next to me and very close when there was a bunch of room on other side and I watched her as I got out of my car, she tells me I won't hit your car; you shouldn't drive nice cars out and leave them at home. I'm thinking I bought my car to drive. But I had many situations where I comeback to people parking next to me when I park in a spot with 10s of spots empty around me. I just found it better to pretend I'm leaving and move my car somewhere else if someone parks next to me and close. Call me anything you want but I find it to be the easiest solution to avoid these dents. To OP: Get this done asap or the insurances aren't going to pay and make it 50-50. Happened when I got rear ended and the other insurance refused to pay cause the guy that hit me said he didn't hit me but somehow I got all his information. |

well the latest is she has ignored me for 3 days, so i left a message saying i will go to small claims and then i finally get a load of calls from her husband basically saying it was not her fault and the wind blew door open, he then said it was a tiny couple of marks and then,..can you believe it said oh your only doing it because you thought it was a lonely woman on her own, i was not amused and basically said said im not arguing over a pathetic amount of money and its a shame they werent decent respectful people that just admitted she had dented car and pay a tiny £60 bill, i also said for his information i was very calm and got out car and simply took her details with no bad words..even though i was fuming and if he had been there id have probably lumped him if this is his attitude. So basically he thinks im patehtic for asking for the money and i said so you think i should basically stump up 60 quid for his wifes carelessness which at the end of the day left two dents in my door....arrghhhh some people just amaze me.
so its now a case of small claims court or to be honest can i be bothered over such a small amount, its more the principle of it than the money... oh well!! |
