Don't hold your breath for it. Given the similarities of the X1 and X2, if there was going to be an X1 M35i, there would be at least some rumours and there are none that I've heard.

The X3 M40i is a very nice vehicle, but it's not a small step. Not only is it quite a bit more expensive, it's also quite a bit larger. People don't seem to realize that vehicle purchasing decisions aren't always about money. When I decided on an X2, it was because the X2 was the right size for my situation.

^^^ Agreed. I want a small(er) DD, no larger in width/length than the X2.
I'm still deciding on the X2 or even a 2 series x drive. I'm also still considering a Golf R or even Audi's S3. At the end of the day, I need/want a small(er) AWD DD, under $50k. Decisions, decisions... Cheers/B

I read that the Mini Countryman and Clubman get the engine for 2020 and the X1 will get it with the LCI.
