Finally got my X1, now re-researching my options. Is there anywhere I could buy the Euro hitch online? Invisihitch is pretty pricy and I still can't convince myself to drill holes in the frame for the inexpensive Curt option. |

Here's what I saw for the X1. I just put in a European version of the X1 and I found these:

I just installed the Drawtight hitch on my X1. Required (2) 1" holes in underside sheet metal but otherwise easy enough. Heat shield had to be trimmed and had poor instructions so it ended up taking me most of the time just doing this by trial and error. Also bought, but didn't install yet, the "No contact" wiring kit for lights. Hardest part of this looks to be getting a power wire routed up to the battery in the front. Anybody else do this? Every other SUV in the world is pre-wired for trailer lights but not this one!

I just pulled a 3010LB Lance 1575 travel trailer...no issues using a Draw-Tite class III, a 4/7-pin wiring harness and a trailer brake controller wired into the vehicle. More info in this forum in another post under 'AWD Towing Capacity?'

Bumping this thread back up as I'm looking into installing a hitch in my 2018 sdrive. Am actually looking to tow a small uhaul trailer when I move though. The Curt one seems nice but my question is, what about wiring?
