Ed_rx7, could you post/email/message me the photos of your X1 with 20s? (The first photos will not load.) I am looking to upgrade my 18s to 19 or 20s and would love to see what they look like! Thanks.

Looks great. Got any direct rear view pics? I'd like to see how wide the 8.5" wheel looks from directly behind. I'm debating an 8.0" vs 8.5" wide wheel. Also interested in if the ET40 looks pokey from behind.

Yeah, I'm wondering how that looks too. Except i'm debating on 8.5" versus 9" wide wheel.

I always liked the wide square look of the wheel/tire combo on X5's although i don't expect to get quite that width on an X1... But 245's on an 8.5 or 9 with like ET40 should be awesome, especially compared to my stock 7.5 ET51's...

Not to mention that they give a very hard ride on the road.
I have the factory 20s with RFT on my X2. The tires don't help, but the ride is not that harsh. The car handles great. I'm happy with it.

The car handles great. More likely due to the low profile tires and non run flats. You can immediately feel the better connection to the road. The wider stance might help with cornering a bit as well.

i will go for 20" 245/40r20, 24.7mm more diameter than stock, that will add 12.35mm more ground clearance.

pro:
+better for pothole and wheel protection.
+conford ride

cons:
-consume more fuel
-12mm low center gravity
