We are thinking about possibly a white shepherd for the next dog we get, though hopefully that's still years away. Anything to watch for or aside from the colour are they essentially the same as a black & tan shepherd in terms of character / personality and the rest?

They're a bit more timid to strangers...seems to be typical to many of them. Just not a trait that you see from shepherds.

I will warn you...while dogs shed, they don't compare to what a shepherds shedding level is. I'll state that the white shepherd is on an entirely new level of that. The white hair is everywhere. Bring your dog in the car and open the windows, it's a snow storm.

My current cat is 10yo and my last cat made it to 14. He had lymphoma.

So, I think it's important to know that I believe there are dog people and cat people. There are folks who may tolerate both, thus thinking they are both...but it's a ruse. To be known, I'm a 100% dog person.

That said, I believe that all cats are evil. They were placed here by aliens to spy on us - and many want to hurt us. I believe my cat knew of my found knowledge, and decided to stick around extra long to make my life miserable.

Wasn't much into photographing the cat - though I do have pictures of the cat and dog together - and with our bunny (that also decided to live extra long).

In the end - the cat looked like hell...fur was pretty rough. This is when she was younger.

Putting their ears back and down does look like cats' "last warning" gesture of "I'll bite you!". But this one, in particular, looks rather depressed/disappointed to me, like "I thought better of you!". A good-looking cat, by the way!

I was using a wide angle lens, so it was a lot closer to her face than the picture makes it seem. She wasn't happy about that.

My pointer had a great time at "Big Reds" running with other dogs all day. Great way to get her tired while rents are in town.

This one is not a stray, but yes, I have that stray kitten. This one was in a pet store and was basically on display from a local shelter. She was 2 years old at the time and she suckered me into adopting her. That was 2004. She's been a pain in my ass ever since. I was ready to bring her back to the shelter after the first week, but Wifey wouldn't hear it. She's been a royal pest for almost 18 years.
