No, the base X1 in US is the xLine version (without paddle shifters, without sport seats, without m sport suspension). At this time the only way to get the paddle shifter, sport seats, and m sport suspension is the m sport version, and it also lowers the car vs. the normal xLine model.

I saw one in person for the first time. Two things caught my attention...
First, the new X1 is not much bigger than the old X1. It's a little bit bigger but not by leaps and bounds. Second, I don't like the sloped roof line in the rear. It drops off too much in order to get a "coupe" look. There's nothing wrong in looking like an SUV. Not everybody wants their vehicle to look like a coupe sports car. Plus, it eats up practical space for the cargo area. |

Here's a side view showing its coupe-like rear roof line. I can't imagine the X2 having a more reduced roofline.

Have you sat inside one? There's lots of space, and any coupe effect is very subtle.

New member here. Just needed to get in my first post. Have owned an X5 for about ten years and now finally "upgrading" or "downgrading" to a new X1 (f48)! WooHoo! I ordered it last week and the anticipation is killing me!

Sport Line
So when can we get the Sport Line in the US and Canada, instead of just the xLine and M Sport? The rest of the world gets all three lines and many engine choices, while all we get are two choices with the same engine!
The sport line is very different than the other two lines -- a totally different style. It is the only way you can get black window trim, black front grills, the attractive 568 sport wheels, and sport seats -- without the ugly, boxy shape of the M Sport. Surely the US and Canada are big enough markets to get the sport line too! |

In Chengdu, China. BMW have taken the covers off the BMW X1 iPerformance the 2.5e xDrive. Shown in Chinese market Li guise.
The other markets that will represent the X1 iPerformance will be shown very soon. This joins the BMW X5 4.0e xDrive to offer to SAV models from different ends of the market. It will join existing iPerformance models such as the 225e Active Tourer,330e,X5 4.0e and the 740e. Next year the range will be expanded to accommodate the next generation 5er and X3 models.

Figured I'd jump on the bandwagon! My first post as well. Just picked up a new 2016 X1 xDrive28i in Glacier Silver Metallic (one of the few 2016s left in inventory in this area).
I was going to order a 2017, but got lucky and found one with the exact options I wanted. Got the premium package, luxury package (black dakota leather and fine oak trim), navigation business, cold weather package, and anthracite headliner. I'm taking it in for paint correction and Opti-Coat tomorrow. I'll post pics in the photo thread once I get it back from my detail shop. |

Tonight my husband and I ordered our X1 xDrive28 with ACC Stop & Go, along with the tech pack, premium pack, luxury pack, and sport seats. It's our first BMW. Many thanks go to all of you and the discussions here; the information posted on this forum was instrumental to our decision to order. Thank you all.
Now to wait until late February, at least, for it to arrive! |
