Yeah, SF is full of photo ops. Here's my take on the Golden Gate:
Golden Gate Bridge, looking West. by dcstep, on Flickr I lucked out and got some decent light in the middle of the day. This is with the 5D MkII with the 24-105mm f/4L IS at 58mm. Dave

Good ones of the bridge and Aliotos. I'll dig up one of the bridge that you have to get if you ever are back.
I can show you the spots too.

I didn't have a lot of photography time this trip, since it was just a long weekend and we had our granddaughter with us and needed to visit our daughter a bunch. Maybe we'll get back for a longer stay and I can get to the best spots at better times. Thanks for the offer. Dave

Yeah, 58mm isn't that wide. Out at 24mm I lost the power of the bridge and the light out toward Alcatraz didn't warrant inclusion. The long line of the bridge made it work. Dave

I did it!!! I made a "hexfecta"
the first picture i was debating if i wanted to add it or not, but i think it paints the picture as you can see the "Dexter" starting to enter the frame. I believe his plan was to land a little higher up, then launch himself over the log. I a series of images of him making that work, so i've assumed that's what he was going for again.... But the wet paws and the early jump made for this image and 5-7 minutes of laughter.... And maybe some crying from laughing so had. the last image is the last one i took because i saw what was happening and stopped shooting and chased after the dog to make sure he was ok.... And yes.... He was perfectly happy and kept going. He's built to take impacts. sorry, i killed some of the quality because i made it too small, then stretched the small image about 200pixels more, so it's not as crisp and clear anymore, but you still get the point |

LOL, was worth the wait. If only you had waited 1/100th of a second for that first photo and gotten more of the nose.

I tryed counting it out, i just got ahead of myself
the reason i left that one in is because i really wanted to demonstrate how far this little dog attempted to jump from. We were thinking he was a good 3 feet in the air, but started about 9-10 feet back... it was pretty phenomenal to watch. I'm put together his proper jump so people can see a properly executed version of this. |

Get the lens lower ~ bottom of the jump if you are going to use the same log again.

That would make a nice triptych. What is that in the last one in front of the dogs nose? Sailboat?

Found this bumble bee on the sponge in my car-washing bucket a couple days ago. I helped him out and snapped some pics. Macro is a completely different world than I'm used to. Such a narrow DOF. This shot was at F/11, I believe. Probably should have tried to stop down further using flash, or attempted to focus-stack:
