Replacing Rear LED light in trunk lid

Is there a DIY for replacing the Rear LED light in trunk lid? How can I make sure it's gone and not some faulty wire/plug?

After some research it looks like the problem is probably with the LED board.

Yes it is. Unlike on the x3 F25 the ledboard is not repairable. It seemed like water got in the lower strip and then it destroys them. Seems always to be the inner lights.

It also seems that LCI lights are less prone to this failing than the pre-LCI lights

What do you mean it's not repairable? Wouldn't some cleaning up solve the problem? Or maybe changing this faulty element on the picture?

Well, you need to delaminate the lens, in the process I broke the lens. On X3 F25 the board is accessible from behind without taking of the whole lens. So when I broke the lens I didn’t bother to repair / clean up the led/board.

But seeing the design I think som moist got in and then it just drips to the lowest point and kills the led/board.
