This worked for me. Thanks for the tip on realoem too. I ran my vin and found the correct 8.8” screen on eBay that matched. Everything looks fullscreen, 1280x480, except for carplay. I have it coded via bimmercode for fullscreen (aktiv) yet I get this split screen view. I feel like I’m missing a setting in idrive to allow carplay to fill the screen fully. Any suggestions on where to look? Thanks! . Last edited by spoonek; 02-14-2024 at 03:57 PM.. |

Upgrading from 6.5" screen to 8.8"
I appreciate that this is an old thread and is for a different model, but it relates to my current problem.
I have a Series 2 F23 2018 with the NBT EVO ID5 head unit. I have just fitted a 8.8" screen (part 65506822626) and have coded it as per MJE60's excellent instructions here. All is fine except for a couple of issues. When in split screen mode the right side of the screen is splayed outwards a bit. (up at the top and down at the bottom). The other issue is that Android Auto doesn't display at all any longer. Just a blank screen. The sound comes though on Spotify but no picture. It is an aftermarket kit and worked well with the 6.5" screen. Can anyone help with coding to fix these issues? Thanks. |

to me, it sounds like you need to make a change on the device to let it know to use 8.8 and not 6.5 because even with an mmi device, you have to set the dip switches correctly when using 6.5 or 8.8. |
