How to tell if I have damper control
Hi, I recently purchased a 2020 x2 m35i and I’m trying to see if I have the damper control. I looked up the optional extras and is has the it said “M Sports Suspension”.
My 2019 series 1 125i m had damper control and the optional extra also just listed “M Sports Suspension” I don’t seem to have any option in my car to turn it on, only old car there was a “individual” options that I could turn it on |

Open the hood and look at the top of the struts. If there's a wire going into a rubber boot, you have damper control.
The setting follows sport mode (comfort=softer, sport=stiffer), it's not controllable individually. It's a good option, I like it but mostly leave the car in sport. Without the option, the car rides somewhere between the two. |

Do you know if there is a way to adjust the steering stiffness? My old bmw would stiffen when in sports mode but the M35i is always stiff |

Ah, 20" wheels. I believe the option is unavailable because of the different strut cartridges required.
No idea if the steering can be tweaked. It's an electrically-driven system so perhaps there's some sort of advanced coding, but I wouldn't risk trying it, personally. |

Related to stiff steering, drop the 20" to 19 or 18" that should help and ofcourse non-RFT if you don’t already have. If there’s no difference between Comfort and sport Maybe you have other problem or you just don’t feel the difference because of the low profile tires |
