Carbon roof repair
I have a rock chip in my carbon roof that the clear is starting to peel off of wondering if anyone has any recommendations for getting it repaired. I know of body shops but I figured I’d ask if anyone has any experience with a shop that’s done it before. I’m in the Long Island area.
Thanks |

I’m in the same boat, although I’m in Canada and every reputable shop I ask says they won’t do it. Luckily in my case, there was only slight peeling on the front lip of the roof (no peeling on the top).
I bought some clear coat touch up paint and went over the peeling areas. Definitely not perfect, but looks much better and hasn’t gotten worse in a year since I did that.

Call Jackie over at Kings Automotive for someone who has direct experience. Not saying he can fix it, but he had damage on a CF roof on his personal car and I believe was successful in getting it repaired. Tell him the former owner of the Le Mans F80 sent you his way, he's a standup dude and may have a good answer.
Alternatively, always can call AutoCouture for guidance - Jeff/Matt (and all of the staff, honestly) are both great guys and if they can help you with this, you won't be disappointed. Good luck - and this is the reminder for everyone with a CF roof to just f'n PPF the whole thing already.
