considering a 2023 x2- discontinued?
Hi, found a good deal on a '23 X2 with 4k miles (loaner car). From what i read, it's been discontinued and '24 will be redesigned. Any risk in purchasing the '23?
thanks! |

no more risk than any used car. If your concern is holding its value, then any used car will be in that boat so to speak.I really enjoy my 19 X2 M35. If this is "just" the standard car it becomes personal preference. As you know it pays to do a VIN look-up to make sure you know what is or isn't on the car in terms of options etc. so I guess this is a non answer, my car is still worth more than the lease buyout a year latter per KBB.
Good luck and let us know what you decide and pics of course if you buy it Remember you drive the car not the deal so if you are happy with the car and price enjoy. These are not appliance cars. Financial concerns are a part enjoyment is also a large part of the thought process |

It was time for a refresh, no reason other than that IMO. This forum is massive proof how good/solid cars the X2s are. The vast majority of the bitches/moans/complaints are related to earlier X2s not having Apple Car Play, the platform not offering BSM, & things of that nature. Essentially nothing with engine, transmission, suspension, etc. Conversely, if you go & look at a current Audi Q3 board you will find a bunch of people extremely unhappy with that vehicle's transmission, model years suffering from leaking moon roofs, etc. If you like the way you sat in an X2 & like the way it drives, then by all means pop on a buy of one. I would flat-out say if I didn't like my X2 but that's not the case. I love mine more & more as time passes. Complete surprise I ended up liking it as much as I do.

Just recently broke 40k in my ‘19 x2 m35i. Still loving it. Just bought stuff for an oil change and front pads from fcp. Waiting for that front brake sensor to trip. Lol.
Still haven’t changed the rears yet. Fronts were changed at 26k miles. So I’m hoping to make it past 50k before needing to do the pads. |

General rule when planning to own longer a car is to have a model from a high-runner series. But X2 shares so many critical parts with other BMW and Mini models, that this shouldn't be a concern. Potentially coupe-specific things like lights, windshield, etc may be a problem one day, but more theoretical than real I think. Talking about that, I am just considering to buy my lease car (with 90K km) because I have a good experience so far with it, and I really like the design and the "exclusivity" on the road (yes, even in Germany it is a rare car).

ZERO issues with the car since I took delivery, none. So far this is the best car or truck I've owned in my life & I've purchased a ton of brand new vehicles in the last 3 decades (between myself & my wife).
