Confession: I'm a sucker. I bought the BMW branded motor oil bags, the warning triangle and bracket, and the BMW branded safety vests.

The oil motor oil bags have velcro on the back so they stick to the side walls of the trunk, and your spare quart isn't sliding around back there.

Mine and the quart of oil came with the X3. I told the guy "so it burned oil that much oil"? He answer, no but we have to do that (head office directive)...

I have one of those bags though instead of oil I keep my fuel additive in there.

I bought 4 of those stick on BMW Velcro oil bags for my trunk....they make great “branded” trunk storage for odds and ends and detailing stuff. The Velcro is super strong and clings to the trunk wall quite nicely 👍
