Just be aware that there are some 2nd user (second hand - not new) ones for sale on ebay that are a few years old and it has been found that after a few years in the boot (trunk) of a vehicle, as soon as they are inflated, the rubber cracks and they are useless.

Thank you for the advice. It's my fear too. I'll go with a brand new tire to be safe.

As promised, I ended up with a Mercedes spare wheel of 19x5.5 and a Kumho 135/70/19. The wheel is a bit too large for the tire, it would be better an 4.5" wheel width.
Long story short, I planned to go with the 155/70/19 tire, but the X2 spare wheel space is smaller than the X1 I guess. I would not be able to fit the 155/70/19 tire in there. I am waiting for the 45mm bolts because this wheel is thicker than stock and for the washer to convert from conical to ball seat. Here are some pictures (I tried the wheel on the car in the meantime to receive the tire). |

Are there any links on here that could point me in the right direction for the exact spacesaver wheel and tyre combination that would fit my 2016 X1 xline running 28" alloys?

Is it not too large... The X1/X2 diameter should be 27". I have an X2, so I don't know the trunk space for the X1. If the X1 trunk has more space than the X2, I found that the BMW i3 wheel and tire should fit with our models. You can try to find an i3 used wheel. It's 19x5" or an aftermarket like https://www.performancealloys.com/ma...al-mirror-face. For the tire, same thing, the i3 tire of 155/70/19 has a diameter of 27.5". It's 1.8% less than your 28". |

If you don't have the M-sport brakes, a 17" spare wheel should fit.

My concern is when the pucture is not easily visible and accesible and you don't have the jack to take off the wheel to find it. |

Buy a can of foaming windscreen/windshield cleaner (like mixra ), if you spray on tyre/tire it then forms bubbles where leak is, so visible even in poor light.

I don't want to put a spare inside the car and take all the space under the floor storage area, the kits sounds like a better option for me. |

Love this economical solution, but was there any resolution on the Msport brakes issue being a make or break factor for this kind of set up?
Have an 2020 F48 with the M Sport package, and currently running BS Blizzak 220/50R-18 non flats. Would love to find a somewhat lightweight, spare option that fits in the trunk storage area for a more economical price than ModernSpare's $300+ option. Guidance welcomed! Thx Quote:

Getting my new X1 next week. Changing to non RFT immediately. Unable to get hold of a suitable size space saver wheel in Singapore.
Is the spare wheel storage area deep and wide enough to hold a BMW 17" alloy wheel with 225/55R17 road tyre? I am seriously considering this option as it is much cheaper too as compared to a space saver. |

Sigh... Local BMW Agent does not offer space saver tyre for any customers. Seems like really have to rely of AA towing services for flats.
