With that price, I guess you can get an M2 for a lot more fun and if you really nead doors you may opt for the M3 or even the 340 |

Small detail but I love the exposed chargepipes (or whatever, correct me if I'm wrong) in the engine bay. The fact that less is being obscured by plastic covers in the engine bay of this new model is definitely a step in the right direction

Two thumbs up for a great looking and fun daily driver with four doors and enough room for the kids.
Now can BMW drop this motor in the F80M3 for a drag pack edition? |

Real great alternative for Northeast drivers that need AWD every now and again...with a flash and a some down pipes, will be putting down some solid #'s!

M3 for a quick car that feels aggressive. M550 for a quick car that feels comfortable. |

Properly equipment the car will likely be around mid to high 80s. Base M5 will be around 100k. So about 15-20k difference between a loaded 550 and base M5. I'd rather have a base M5 at that price point.

550i xdrive = $68,600 starting (445 horsepower, just doesn't have all the M badges) M5 = $94,100 So $25,500 difference! I am guessing the M550i will start around $70K still since the Audi S6 starts at $70,900 (2017 model, 450 horsepower with AWD), BMW is aiming for the S6 I think after it embarrassed the last generation 550i But with options the M550i xdrive will be pretty much the same price as a M3 fully loaded, and it looks like their 0-60 times will be about the same. M550i = more practicle just as fast in everyday driving (in fact in lots of conditions it will be faster due to AWD), but won't be as fun to drive and won't be as fast on a track. BMW is giving me lots of options when I trade in my M3 in 2-3 years, for $75K you will be able to get a M3/M4, X3M/X4M, or M550i xdrive, some may hate that the later are even being made but I love it. |

Base price for the F10 M5 in Germany was 103.000 Euros. I just noticed that it already disapeared from the car configurator, so this price is from a different source.

I guess you have never been in the position to buy a 100k Euro car. I have, on numerous occassions. And 20-30k does make a difference to some. A buddy of mine has bought an M5 new and ordered it pretty much without options because he saved just this money. Now there will be some folks saying then you should buy a cheaper car but why, he really wanted this M5. Props to him.

The only thing I'm not feeling is that color of the kidney sourrounds and the trim at the bottom.
