Harmon Kardon - improved in current builds?
According to ETK:
http://www.etk.cc/bmw/EN/search/sele...CE/65/65_2848/ and according to owner of an early F48 the HK system is improved in the current F48 builds: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...9&postcount=54 |

Looking at the thread on Bimmerfest, it appears that the newer build *may* have a higher gain/output from the amp...very subjective as to whether that makes for an improvement or not.
I'd suggest a better improvement would be the ability to utilise the equaliser and/or logic7 as in other BMW implementations...can't see it happening anytime soon though. |

Reason is F48 doesn't support the BMW's "MOST"amplifier version and hence no EQ. |

I've got the HK in my M135i and I will definitely not be speccing it if I get another BMW mainly because :
- I tend to turn it off or down so I can hear the lovely 6-pot engine - I also find I just don't listen to music enough in the car to warrant the extra cost - drove a 13 year old Renault Clio this week, with standard radio and £25 "upgraded" front speakers. It sounded very good- I was shocked at how good it was - drove my wife's 2011 116i ES also this week. Standard BMW audio, sound quality not as good as the Clio but good enough for the few occasions I would use it. So, no HK next time, but I'll probably get the BMW "Advanced" speakers. |

My X1 was delivered today and sorry to report that it looks like there are still no equalizer settings despite what the App was saying . If I find any different in the next few days I will report back

In my F30, when you have the source (media) selected, move the iDrive controller to the right and you should see a menu with the Random option displayed - you need to select this to enable randomisation.

The possibility of random/shuffle is somewhat hidden. When in Playlist go to Options and scroll down where you can check random. Thanks SDB123! Last edited by Thq; 06-29-2016 at 02:57 PM.. |
