Bluetooth / new battery unablw to link
So, new battery installed by mobile engineer of nigh street chain. Nitially managed to link my phone back to the car but contacts would not upload. Wife’s phone appeared to link and made 1 outgoing call. Now it won’t recognise either phone, won’t allow any phone to be deleted so I’m wondering whether the technician properly registered the battery to the car. Haven’t been on a long enough journey to see if stop/start is working. Thinking I’ll just register the battery via Bimmerlink myself, THOUGHTS???

If you have the Bimmerlink app…you can quickly check if the battery has been registered. When go to it in the app, there will be a field for mileage that indicates the last time the battery was registered. If the mileage in that field fits about the time you replaced the battery, then the registration took place.
Plus, I can’t think of a reason that battery registration would affect BT connection. If the contact list was lost, then it takes a while for the list to compile if you have a long list of contacts. You can see the screen shots below from when I registered a new battery for my f15 back in Oct 2024…the mileage box is empty (i was still on my original battery from 2013) and within the 1 minute it took to register the battery, you can see that the mileage field was updated when the registration was completed.
