stubborn 191c02 code
Hey all,
New here and have a 2017 BMW X1. I use to have a WRX I brought to stage 3 by myself (except the tune) many years ago and really enjoyed doing it. So I'm fairly handy around a car. Anyways, I got a 2017 x1 a few years ago and the check engine light came on. The car wasn't running really smooth anymore and at idle it is reving a bit low and high at times. The major evap codes starting popping up (191c02, 190f08, etc). I replaced the evap purge valve and the gas cap. this helped the cars smoothness a bit, but not back to normal. All the evap codes went away, except the 191c02 one. I bought a smoke tester on Amazon and ran it through a few different parts in the evap line. After a few minutes running, the only place I could see smoke coming out was in the air intake section. Where the box meets the duct (see attachment). Which, doesn't seem like would be an issue, but please correct me if I'm wrong. This is where I am at and can not figure out where the problem is. Could just take it to a machanic, but at this point I have vested interest preferring to not let the car win ![]() Any ideas how this can be fixed myself? |
