Got to say they do make the car look extra-nice, and a 30mm drop will certainly plant it better.
H&R beauty shot: The springs do not appear to be progressive, so I'd expect them to ride a bit stiffer than stock. Maybe not a lot though. I have the dynamic dampers, and might be a tiny bit concerned about the height change effect on those. Food for thought. Edit: Found the TÜV certification, it does include the M35i! https://www.h-r.com/bin/28790.pdf Last edited by //TMT; 09-10-2020 at 07:39 PM.. |

Let me know how it goes.
I've been kind of against modding my car, as I thought it handled outstandingly excellent on the track, despite my years of modding all my cars. Well, after driving today and having this thread implanted in my mind - it's now bugging me, you know - the modding bug came back to bite. Quite interested to hear your impressions and if it is 'truly' worth the cost (performance wise). Thanks. |

i'll be honest in that this car is never going to see a day at the track, but rather i'm looking for increased car-like mannerisms and improved aesthetics. i think it should pair well with the jb4 piggyback unit that's on its way provided that that unit doesn't cause headaches.

Is your car mounted with 19 or 20 wheels? I got the same springs and I feel my cars wheels dont fill out the wheel well as nicely. I love the look though and it definitely makes the car look and feel more sporty. Its more like a hatch and less awkward for me.

okay, but let's keep this thread about lowering springs and not coilovers. so yes, GAMA ,your car looks great, but you do have your own thread on your coilovers not h&r lowering springs.

My apologies i thought the purpose of the tread was the lowering of the car not how it got lower. But all good 💪🏻🚗💨

Here are the results of the H&R lowering springs on the M35i. There is a noticeable difference in wheel gap, particularly in the rear and it seems like it's just the right amount because there is absolutely no discernible difference in ride quality which was going to be a deal breaker if it turned out to ride horribly as this is my daily driver. Thankfully the ride quality has not changed.
A mild drop, but one that was quite worth it. I did it mainly for looks, but it now drives just a tad more like a car, so more hot-hatchy if you will.

Looks pretty good, and great to know the ride quality doesn't degrade.
Would love to see another pic after a few days and a few miles, and things have a chance to settle. |

i'll update after a few days. this thursday it's having its full frontal covered in ppf, so it'll spend the night at the shop and i'm really trying not to drive it between now and then because i want to minimize any chance of getting rock chips, so it'll be in my garage until thursday and then after it comes back from the installer's shop, i'll take another set of pictures to see if the settling has made any difference. either way, i'm a happy camper as is.
