Tire size ?s 225/45/19 to 235/45 or 245/40?
Thinking of ditching the runflats sooner rather than later (car currently has 8k miles, yep, I've put 4k miles on in less than two months ) Did a trip to Fort Bragg to grab the grandkids in February and just did the trip again to drop them back off (my son got shipped out for a few weeks but he's back now)
Wondering if these will fit, both are a little taller or a little smaller than stock height. Looking at 235/45/19 Michelin CrossClimate2 or 245/40/19 Nokian WR G4. Neither are available in 225/45/19. I'm looking at both as all weather tires since I don't plan on doing a separate winter setup for the X2. I already have a spare tire so I'm not worried about ditching the runflats. Any experience with those sizes fitting my X2 M35i? Rebates going on for both right now. Thanks |

Whatever wheel and spare that was posted in the other threads. It will not clear the front so if I get a front flat, I need to move a rear wheel to the front and stick the spare wheel on the back.

You'll have no problem at all fitting those tires on.. But I wouldn't use the spare anymore since there will be variance in the diameter of the other three tires.. Just an idea I probably would be afraid of unless you're in a real bind. I thought of that myself when I just blew my winter tire. Even if I had it, my winter tires are 3% shorter so I don't even know if I'd limp it the rest of the 5 miles home or risk messing up the transmission/differential.

I thought about that too. When I had a winter tire blowout of my F33, I replaced one with a slightly taller summer tire and the 2 miles to get off the freeway the car was shaking really bad. Swapped the other side to match (I knew it was the right call to tell my daughter to bring two tires) and the shaking went away.
I might have better luck with the Nokians in 245/40/19 Last edited by chowser51; 03-22-2021 at 04:48 PM.. |
