Car seat?

We're considering an X1 for my wife but would need to fit a car seat in the back. Specifically we're using the Chicco Keyfit 30. Anyone have any experience with a car seat in the back? How does it fit?

Thanks for the help!

You should have plenty of room. I have a Cybex Syrona in the back behind the passenger seat and it leaves enough room to sit comfortably at the front. I can send some pictures if you want!

They fit pretty good, can get a lil tight for the child's legs if you have a bigger person in the front passenger but that's really it. I have a 2 year old daughter and a graco forever all in one.

I have a Chico nextfit and a Chico keyfit 30 (both in rear facing configurations) in my X1. I also have the rear bench all the way back. It works perfectly for us, but if you are tall it might be a problem.

I am about 5'8" and my wife is about 5'4". If you were 5'10" or taller, I don't think you would have enough room in the front. Both car seats touch the front seat back rests when configured for our height.

In forward facing mode, there will be no issues of course. If you don't have the sliding rear bench, the fit will be tougher since the sliding bench gives a tiny bit more room.

We bought the factory BMW base unit and Group 1 seat. Expensive but fits perfectly. Best part is that the car still fits three across. Most similar seats are wider than necessary which inhibit the across action.

Congrats on the baby!

I'm 5'8 and my wife is 5'3. Our 2016 F48 was not available with a sliding backseat (not an option in Canada if we wanted M-Sport).

We had the Keyfit 30 in the back outside spots, rear-facing, and no issues at all. We now have a Clek Fllo, rear-facing, and fits fine but front passenger seat has to be in nearly the most forward position.

Should bring whatever car-seat you plan to use and try it in the actual car at the dealer!

G'luck!

Fred

I had an uppa baby newborn seat and now a peg perego primo viaggio car seat in rear facing and it is super tight. Very uncomfortable for my average to tall passengers. I'm regretting not getting the adjustable rear seats.

So am I. I think most car seats will make the front a tight fit. Adjustable rear would've been useful, although would have required custom order as I didn't see many on the lots here. .
