Hi All, I am a new driver and just finished my drive ed and my training was over a Mercedes C200 which was underwhelming as a car but it had a Blindspot Warning Tone.
Now that I got my new car a G30 540 a MY2023, I got only the little triangle light in the mirrors and no tone. Is this how it is with G30, or am I missing something? Thank you!

Be wary of steering wheel intervention, some really do not like it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAW44NqYDmQ |

Do they not put an owners manual in the new BMWs? I have a paper back version as well as an owners manual built directly in iDrive that gives instant access as well as multiple search options. It even has embedded videos for certain features (like active blind spot detection). I find the integrated iDrive owners manual a great and convenient resource.

I do not believe the BMW has a tone for blind spot, just the triangle on the mirror.

I find the feature works quite well on my G30. The one that made me pleasantly surprised was on a road trip a year or two back where I had checked my blind spots well and signaled and went to move over. The steering wheel vibrated and the car forcibly steered me back into my lane. I went “huh? It is clear” only to have a car go by me a second or two later. He had to be doing 130+ and I was doing 80 or 90MPH at the time. I was surprised at how far back the car was able to see and to warn on that. I haven’t really had false positives from this feature. I do have it activate when I’m driving a bit aggressive and I knowingly merge in close, but I’m aware of that so I override it. I find with BMW their safety features are focused on being “unobstrusive” and being a “driver’s car” assumes we are experts and the aids try to come on as late as possible and as quietly as possible. There are lots of different variants from different car companies. As noted...BMW merely provides the lighted arrow. Merc gives the tone. Some offer a camera instead of a mirror (in Europe...not currently allowed in the US) and at least one, Lucid, offers both.
