Cool 20% Tint on my IB M3 Sedan

I know some members like myself have been curious to what certain tints look like. Well, I didn't have too many examples to follow, so I took a risk and went with 20% all around using Formula 1 tint. The legal limit over here where I live is 30%, but I went a tad bit darker.

For those of you wondering if someone can see through the tint from the outside, the answer is yes.....But not very easily. I wanted to stay away from the Limo tint, since it looks kinda' tacky and cheap imo. The 20% is probably more than dark enough for most individuals taste buds, and most likely darker than some would prefer. I like it though.

The end result: I think it turned out looking very good.

Here are some pics:

Perfect...I have the exact same set up on my car

btw, on your rear window, the 'dot matrix' at the top, is it bubbly or did they get it fixed?

Uhhhh....They didn't cover that part with the tint, but they neatly filled the area within the "dot matrix".

Were they suppose to cover the dot matrix? I think it looks ok....

I did go to them again today to get it all perfected (even though there's no such thing as perfect ).

some tint shops apply vinyl to cover the dot matrix.

did you get moleskin applied to the second wiper since you have an e90?

btw... car looks badass

Thanks man!

btw, I didn't get anything else other than the tint on the back and side windows.

What's moleskin?

Check this thread: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=268658

It seems that the second wiper seal on the e90 is not covered with felt...thus causing scratches on the tint.

This is the reason why i haven't had my car tinted yet. I just ordered a tint protector set from tintprotector.com. I'm going to have this installed prior to getting my tint installed.

Just to be safe, I suggest adding this tint protector or removing your secondary wiper seal to prevent scratches.

btw, the vinyl layer is optional...

I never knew about the problem with the seals on the E90. That explains a lot on my car since the dealer tinted it before I picked it up.

Thank you darwin316. I just got through reading the entire thread link that you provided. I'm very nervous now.....But it looks like I may have to get that tint protector.

Hey could you PM me where you got that vinyl done on your rear window? Mine's still all jacked up and my tint guy never picks up when I call him

I don't like tint so I'm not going to comment, how long have you had your car? a week and you haven't got rid of all the orange reflectors, all that hype on your previous posts. You listed a ton of mods and how you couldn't wait, from what I can see you've only done tint, I'm disappointed hurry up and change the reflectors and front grill at least.

Not going to diss the OP, but he bolded parts above were the first mods I did to my e90

I now added an APE filter.

Will go with tints and a front lip next.

Looks good Nawaaz. I have 15 Pinnacle and I have to say I am happy I had them do the vinyl over the back window dot matrix. I would definitely add it
